Toontorial

So, you think you’re Toon enough, do you? To start off, let me introduce myself, I’m Lady Lily Lemonsplat. I will gladly be leading you through the steps necessary to get you Toonified and ready to go.
Pictured below is where you’ll make your Toons and choose which of your Toons you would like to play. Take note that the color of the square you choose will be the color of that Toon’s house at their estate. Click a square and let’s begin!

The first thing you must decide is your gender. Do you want to be a girl or a boy? The two are very similar in Toontown, except girls get eyelashes and skirts.

The second step is to create your toon. There are several different animals to choose from. The choices of animal species are horse, bear, mouse, duck, monkey, cat, dog, pig, and rabbit. Each animal also has a few facial variations. This is also where you’ll choose your body. You can be tall and thin, average, short and chubby, or any combination of the choices.

Next, you will choose your toon’s color. There are exactly 24 different colors to choose from (excluding black) and you can even mix and match with a different color on your head, torso, and legs to give your toon a multi-colored look!

Now it’s time to pick some clothes! Shirts and shorts for boys, shirts, shorts, and skirts for the girls. The clothing items that you choose for your new toon are not permanent. There are many styles and colors to choose from, so shop around.

Finally, you get to name your toon! Your toon can have a title, a first name, and a last name. Just scroll through and highlight the ones you like. You can also type your own name, but it must be approved by the Toontown Council.

Have fun making your toon! With so many options, this is definitely an opportunity to express your individuality. When you finish, click the checkmark in the lower right corner and head to the Toontorial.

It’s now time to follow Lady Lily through the Toontorial. Here she is meeting Tutorial Tom, he’ll help her learn about the Gags and Cogs.

Listen to Tom as he tells Lady Lily about the Cogs, evil robots that wander the streets of Toontown causing mayhem!

Ah, but here is the secret to defeating the Cogs and thwarting their evil plans, Gags!

Tom also gives Lady Lily her Laff meter. Cogs will try to take away her Laff points, so she should be very careful. Lady Lily is able to refill her Laff meter by finding treasures in the playgrounds or when she turns in her toontask to an HQ Officer.

Oh, no! Tom has spotted a Cog! Let’s follow Lady Lily outside to complete her first Task.

She runs out of the shop and approaches the Cog to start the battle. She is only armed with two gags, but don’t worry.  They will both hit and it will be enough to entirely destroy the cog.

After every cog battle, toons will do a victory dance.  Skill points are awarded and toontask progress will be updated. Lady Lily has now earned one point for each gag she successfully used. A level one gag will only give one point per successful attack, unless there is an invasion in progress (gag points are doubled). As she uses them more often, she’ll obtain more powerful gags that earn more points per successful attack.  After 10 points, she will earn the level 2 gag for that type.  The amount of points you need to reach the next level will increase greatly as you advance.

Tom pops up for a final goodbye and tells Lady Lily to go to the Toon HQ to turn in her completed toontask. When Lady Lily turns in her task, HQ Harry gives her a Shticker Book which appears in the lower right hand corner of the screen. This book will help her keep track of her life in Toontown. You may also notice Lady Lily’s laff was completely restored.  This occurs any time you turn in completed toontasks.

Lady Lily opens the shticker book and sees a map of Toontown. Once she visits a certain playground, the clouds will clear to reveal it’s location.

She turns the page to see her gags. She doesn’t have any right now, so she needs to get jellybeans to buy some! An easier way to see your gags is to press and hold the HOME key on your keyboard.

Her new task is to ride the trolley. After she rides the trolley, she will earn jellybeans to buy gags. Turning the page shows her where she can see the toontasks she has been assigned.  An easier way to see your toontasks is to press and hold the END key on your keyboard.

On her way to pass through the tunnel to find the trolley, Lady Lily meets Flippy. He is going to teach her how to use the SpeedChat button so she can communicate with other toons. If you are a cat and say “Toontastic!” at this point to Flippy on Halloween, you will turn into a black cat! This is permanent! He also explains that there is a button that will allow her to use her keyboard to chat.

Now Lady Lily can pass through the tunnel to Toontown Central.  Do not be tempted to wander around just yet.  It’s best to get the toontorial done as soon as you can.  She is directed toward the trolley.  All she has to do is run up to the trolley and hop on board.  It will take you to one of a variety of trolley games available in Toontown.

After Lady Lily completes her trolley game, she is awarded with some jellybeans. Now she can buy some more gags in the Gag Shop. Clerk Clara is going to teach her about gags and give a sneak preview of the higher level gags.

Now she needs to exit the gag shop and turn in her task to an HQ Officer at the Headquarters in the playground. Once inside Lady Lily hands in her task and is immediately given another task.  She needs to find a blackboard eraser that a cog has stolen from Toon Headquarters.

Lady Lily needs to head through a tunnel and find a cog to get back that eraser. She manages to find a cog and successfully destroys him.

During her mission, she discovers toon gags and cog attacks can sometimes miss.  She also sees cogs of various levels.  The higher the level, the more powerful the cog making it more difficult to destroy.

Finally, she finds the blackboard eraser!

Once back at the playground, Lady Lily heads inside the HQ to return the eraser and officer refills her Laff meter for a job well done!

The HQ Officer tells Lady Lily how important it is to have friends. If you already managed to find a friend before this point, you will not receive this task.

There are two ways to make friends. One way is to click on any other toon, it will bring up their profile. Click the Friends button to request becoming a friend. Also, she can click on the icon in the upper right corner of her screen to open her friend list and click the New Friend button. She is then told to click on any toon she wants to be friends with. It’s usually best to find people entering the Headquarters as they may have also just received this mission as well.  Normally, you shouldn’t just ask anyone to be your friend.  It is far more polite to get to know them first.

The HQ Officer informs Lady Lily that she has a Toon house. He tells her about Clarabelle’s Cattlelog as well.

When she clicks on Clarabelle’s picture in the upper right corner, she is teleported to the estate where her very own house is. Inside her house, she discovers her telephone to call Clarabelle. Her first cattlelog is full of furniture, emotions, speedchat phrases, wallpapers, floors, and clothing. She can order gifts for her friend as well as buying things for herself. After hanging up the phone, she looks around her house. She sees her jellybean bank where her beans are safely stored. There is also a wardrobe where she keeps her clothing and changes outfits.

Outside her house is the mailbox where all her cattlelog items will be delivered. After using her Shticker Book to go back to the playground, she returns to HQ to let an Officer know she completed her task by calling Clarabelle. The officer awards her with a 1 point Laff boost on her Laff meter.

Now, Lady Lily has completed the Toontorial and will continue completing tasks to help prevent the cogs from taking over Toontown. Toontown is always looking for help in defeating the cogs.
